Title: High School Students Enter a Robotics Competition

Abstract:

A group of students and a teacher from Washington Prep High School, a South Central public school, are building a robot to win a high school robotics competition.

Most high school robots run exclusively by radio control, but not this one. Washington Prep's robot, The General, is being designed to run autonomously for a period of time. Design concepts include the seeking out of stacked bins and line-tracking with optical sensors as well as pneumatic effectors.

The students will present the game, a proto-robot, and their design ideas. Please come and give them some feedback on how they can make their robot kick butt.
